The Spanish language program at St. Francis de Sales begins with the kindergarten classes. K-2 Spanish classes are taught once a week. In these years, children learn basic vocabulary such as numbers, colors, days of the week, and greetings. Starting in the third grade, Spanish classes are provided by Fun Fluency Program. Fun Fluency uses a multi-sensory language method which combines movement, games, and songs. As the grades progress, vocabulary is increased, and verb conjugations are introduced. By eighth grade, students have developed skills in the three modes of communication: Interpersonal, Interpretive and Presentational.
